Why we notice a big difference: February 2021 Newsletter, by Dr Jerry J Masarira, (Naturopath D CBIS)

I grew up herding our family cattle, sheep, and goats; And for any continental African family, this is not news. When I grew a bit older, I graduated from herding cattle to working in the fields with my parents in the hot sun from morning to sunset. We did not go home for lunch or breakfast. Food was brought to the fields from home by somebody on cooking schedule for that day. That is part of continental African culture and a way of life.

When you take care of animals grazing in the bush, there are some things you naturally learn and become familiar with by default. That is, you begin to know over hundred plus, wild edible fruits, medicinal bushes, different grasses and trees when they are in season. We knew fruit trees by their names and the taste of each fruit even in the dark. I survived on them some other times because I could not afford to go back home for lunch due to distance and time.

Every fruit tree in the bush is organic with all the phytochemicals needed by the body. We rarely got sick. It was almost impossible. When I grew up, those foods pretty much shaped and structured my body and how it functioned then.

Now I live in the United States of America. It is a culture shock every day for me. I have been here many years, but I cannot get used to the culture. Almost all indigenous Americans both, black and white, know pharmaceutical drugs almost at competitive levels with their health care professionals. I was shocked that, even primary school going children are well versed with these drugs at a young age. What I went to college for, to learn about drugs and wrote a test; to most of them, it is street language. They grow up buying fruits from supermarkets and when sick they visit a family doctor or hospital.

Their familiarity with their environment, foods and their up-bringing culture is almost opposite to mine. The difference is like East and West. We are not the same.

Let me explain why I gave you the differences between the two cultures. When you walk inside any standard built house, you do not see bricks on the wall structure. It is because the walls are plastered. All you see is plastered and painted walls.

The plaster you see, will give you a general picture of a body part called Endothelium.

All our blood vessels, veins, capillaries, arteries, and our heart, their inside walls are covered with a thin layer of cells called Endothelium. This separates the flowing of blood from the rest of the body. It has many functions in the body and is an organ by itself. It is a means of communication between your blood, with anything in your blood and the rest of your body. It does so, as follows:-

1.   It controls how your blood clots and also dissolving of blood clots.

2.   It controls your blood vessels and heart muscles how they contract or relax, because that balances the presence of magnesium and calcium it would have received from foods. This makes the lumen, (the space inside) to be wide or to be narrow in the process.

3.   It produces many hormones, (autocrine, endocrine and paracrine) to communicate with other cells in the rest of the body.

4.   It controls and balances electrolytes and other chemical substances in the tissues.

5.   It responds to all chemical or physical changes in the blood and reports to the whole body to react and respond accordingly if there are any threats.

6.   It regulates our blood sugar and blood pressure.

7.   It regulates our immune responses in the body and controlling the behavior of white blood cells as they fight infections.

All man-made chemicals and drugs affect and cause endothelial injury. When you take drugs by mouth, before it gets into the blood stream it goes to your liver first for most of the drug to be destroyed. When you put any creams on your skin or inject any drug, it goes into the blood stream bypassing the liver. All personal care products applied on the skin do the same thing.

They end up attacking your endothelium because they get into the blood first. All processed foods and genetically modified foods with no food content, cause endothelial injury. Since the endothelium controls your blood sugar, blood pressure and signals your body to respond to any invasion that is toxic to your body, including viruses, it means the responses to invasions fail to function as fast as it should, to protect you.

Overuse of wrong foods and antibiotics causes a condition called dysbiosis causing diseases to thrive without control of good bacteria. In order for Endothelium to repair itself it needs good nutrition, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and other essential fats. Lack of sunshine does not allow the Endothelium to repair itself. Living in cold and snow countries slows down the repair of the Endothelium.

When the body is deficient of vitamin B6, B12 and folate, there is plaque caused, and inflammation in the endothelium. There is also a substance called Lp (a) or lipoprotein (a) which is a sign of vitamin C deficiency in endothelium. When there is 70% deficiency, one is likely going to have a heart attack. All you have to do is eat a lot of organic fruits and fermented vegetables to raise vitamin C levels.

When there is excess sugar in the bloodstream, the endothelium is affected because free molecules of glucose attach themselves to protein in the blood making the proteins very sticky (the official term for these proteins is AGES – Advanced Glycosylated End products). They then move to the small capillaries and block them. They accumulate and form a substance called Amyloids.

a.   These may block the retina causing poor eyesight.

b.   When they block the capillary bed of the kidney, it causes kidney problems and high blood pressure.

c.   When they block capillaries of the brain, they cause Alzheimer’s disease.

d.   When they block capillary bed of the male sexual organ, they cause erectile disfunction and impotence.

Now let me explain the attacks of Covid19, and Why we notice a big difference in Africa. Africans on the continent, are not affected much by a Covid19 virus like the rest of the world but black Africans outside the continent are.

As much as Africa is far behind in the medical field and technology, the whole world is shocked with the turn of events. When the world expected, the whole of Africa to be wiped with the pandemic, the opposite is true. It is the other side that is being wiped. Look at the following:-

1.  The sunshine we take for granted help renew our endothelium while many blacks in developed countries with snow and the cold, are dying for lack of enough sunshine because black skin needs more sunshine than whites. The question is always asked, “why do blacks die so much because of Covid19?” as compared to the same percentage of whites.

2.   The processed foods that are not organic affect the renewal of Endothelium.

3.   The drugs that have been taken from a young age make one vulnerable to the attack because the Endothelium is weak.

4.   Stress is a very serious contributor, that is now affecting Africa and their `use of more pharmaceutical drugs than before. Life has changed so much for the “Better?” No, not for heath benefits.

5.   Had Africans remained African in diet and disease treatments, except broken bones, no virus was going to affect the continent at all. The sources of nutrition are original and organic, that makes the situation right now looks controlled. What the world does not know is that the African rural culture and plenty of sunshine are in-charge of the pandemic through the Endothelium organs. That is the shock which developed countries have not discovered. (they say we do not have enough technology to test everybody. That is not true). We are just eating the right foods and burning in the sun.

6.   Keep eating African, you will not go wrong. I live in America the food is tasteless. Too much sugar and too much salt to cover the bad taste.

7.   I hunt for organic farmers, there are here also but in small numbers. God protected me, I have not experienced Covid19. I pray that it does not happen. I am doing my part, God does His.

8.   You have to be a victim of many problems I have listed above to be affected. Other-wise you are exempted.

I now have a new website for you to communicate for consultations and also training you as a medical missionary. There are other services you may find useful.  On the website I recorded over 100 audio weekly lessons and old monthly news-letters you might have missed from the past. Feel free to read and listen. Pass the website link to as many people as you want across the globe.
