Eating disorders: January 2021 Newsletter, by Dr Jerry J. Masarira, (Naturopath D. CBIS)

Almost all health organizations believe and teach the eight laws of health. Enpro

health institute Inc. is the only organization that believes and teaches, eleven laws of health.

The acronym is T H E - R E A L - L I F E.

A life that is real is based on the following pillars:-

Trust in divine power.

Healthy Environment. (Trash breeds diseases).

Exercise.

Rest. (Sleep on time and wake up on time)

Eat right (organic and No junk food).

Air.

Light from the sun.

Lots of water.

Interaction (communicating with real people) Loneliness and isolation are not healthy for anyone.

Fasting (Stomach needs resting. It is good for your metabolism).

Education (Learning more about your body health needs) just like you are doing now.

They are eleven laws because I rearranged the eight laws making them seven and added four more, the four laws of health I added are Healthy environment, Interacting, Education, and Fasting. I believe there are many more laws to be added, with time and learning.

We have been stuck on the eight laws of health for over one hundred years, according to the book I read when they were introduced. One hundred and six years, by this year 2021, to be more specific.

Like any other law of health that can be abused, Fasting can be abused because it can become an eating disorder.

Let me explain the differences. Disordered eating AND Eating disorders are different. Disordered eating is an eating behavior that is out of the norm. Eating Disorder is a specific medical condition and emotional illness that has a criterion that is clinically defined before it is diagnosed.

All eating disorders are brain problems and have a common thread. They are progressive and get worse over time.

Fasting is abstaining from all foods, but water consumption is reduced (you do not fast water). Fasting can be done for religious, health, or preparation for medical tests reasons. This is good, so long as there are limits to it. Some have gone to extremes and fast many days to lose weight. In the process began to hate their weight image in the mirror. They then resort to a fasting spree eventually developing an eating disorder. There are many eating disorders. I will mention a few.

There is the Orthorexia Nervosa disorder. This is a fixation to extremes on eating very pure and healthy food behavior. This starts with eating healthy and then becomes too extreme even on healthy foods. The difference between eating healthy and this disorder IS, preoccupation and rigid interpretation of some aspects of foods and a certain way of cooking as well as expectations to the exclusion of everything else.

There is the Anorexia Nervosa Disorder. The term Anorexia refers to a loss of appetite and inability to eat, then causing illness. Anorexia Nervosa is a disorder with the emotional origins of food restriction behaviors. Without interventions, the person may starve to death. This is a progressive disorder because it starts when one just wants to lose a few pounds and then it gets out of control.  The common cause of death with this behavior is heart failure. The body feeds on itself during starvation. When it runs out of food it begins to “eat” muscles for energy. The heart is a muscle. The body then causes heart-muscle damage, then heart failure, and then death.

There is another disorder called Bulimia. This is also called binge-purge behavior. The binge is consuming huge portions of food very rapidly. Purging then occurs as self-induced vomiting, also accomplished by other ways such as extreme exercises, use of laxatives (medications that make one poop all the food).

The disorder is progressive but the physical damage is not recognized because it is internal. Self-inducing vomiting repeatedly causes erosion of teeth and electrolyte imbalance in the body. The most dangerous is esophageal hemorrhage and internal bleeding. The esophagus was never created to withstand repeated exposure to highly acidic stomach acid. Stomach acid is good for digesting meat, that is why lions live on meat daily because they have very short intestines but produce a lot of acids to take care of meat-eating. Human beings and animals like cattle (They also chew the cud) have long intestines to digest vegetables and grass, not meat. Human beings do not digest meat. We were not designed to eat meat. The meat putrefies (Rots) and stay days in the stomach and come out as poop many days later, usually one week, for every meat potion one eats. That also causes Cancer. We do not have enough acid to quickly burn the meat, even our teeth and cattle teeth tell the same story. That is the very reason when you have cancer, you are advised not to eat meat. Meat promotes cancer cell growth because it feeds cancer cells. Watch your eating behaviors.
